ISOKO: Essien Okiemute Has Called On President Bola Ahmed Tinubu To Consider Isoko Nation For Ministerial Appointment.
A founding member of All Progressives Congress APC in Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, Hon. (Dr.) Benjamin Essien Okiemute* has called on *President Bola Ahmed Tinubu* to consider Isoko nation for ministerial appointment.
The former member, Delta State House Assembly, while congratulating President Tinubu on assumption of office, explained that Urhobo, Ijaw, Itsekiri and Aniomas had produced Ministers in Delta State.
Okiemute in a statement on Wednesday in Warri, maintained that only the Isoko nation is yet to produce a minister since 1999 till date, noting that it will be fair and justified for an Isoko person to be appointed by President Tinubu.
He added that Isoko nation played a major role in the formation of APC in Delta State, and called on Nigerians to support the new administration of President Tinubu to reposition the country to achieve desired growth and development.
The retired naval officer said; “President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima would need the support and cooperation of all citizens to move the country forward. It was time to diligently and prudently manage the resources of Nigeria for the good of the citizens.”
He expressed hope that President Tinubu was determined to do things right and that every citizen is expected to genuinely play their role and contribute toward the growth and development of the country.
“The President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu cannot do it alone, he has good vision and plan for the country. Those to be appointed and those around him should help Mr. President to actualize his plans for the nation
“Isoko Nation is a major oil producer and contributor to the resources of the country. After Oloibiri where crude oil was discovered in 1956, the second place was Uzere in Isoko 1957/58. Therefore, the Tinubu’s administration should give attention to the development of Isoko nation,” he said.
